The main campus is situated in the centre of Dublin in the Temple Bar area, overlooking the River Liffey. It is ideally located for exploring Dublin`s cultural and social life. During the summer months other locations are used both in the city centre and in modern colleges in the suburbs.
English tuition is given by trained tutors experienced in Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL). Most of our tutors have several years experience teaching abroad, and all have at least a university degree and a TEFL diploma. Video and taped material is widely used during class. A media library is available for private study. Textbooks and materials for all courses are included in fees.
On our standard Courses the average number of students in a group is 12, with a maximum of 15. On the other courses numbers in a group vary according to the course selected. Groups of two, three or four persons are available. We also have a wide range of Individual Courses where tuition is on a one-to-one basis.
Accommodation is arranged with selected families in the suburbs of Dublin. All families used by the Dublin School of English are inspected by a member of the School staff. The DSE does not contract accommodation to other companies, which means that it is able to control quality and maintain a direct relationship with Host Families and other accommodation providers. This also means that we can react quickly to a client`s needs.
Single room or twin room accommodation is provided according to the course booked. Where a
twin room is stated, a single room may be reserved against a supplement. Other forms of accommodation are available in university residences, hostels, guesthouses, apartments or hotels. All accommodation arranged is easily accessible from the School.
