Media, News and Weather
Ireland has a wide range of national newspapers. The major local national papers are The Irish Times, The Irish Independent, and The Examiner.
In addition all of the major UK newspapers are sold throughout Dublin, in many cases with regional variations.
Dublin has also recently started getting the "morning freebies" with Metro and Herald AM being the 2 providers.
There are 4 national television stations in Ireland - RTE1, RTE2, TG4 (mainly an Irish language station) and TV3. In addition, all the major UK channels are received throughout Ireland (BBC1, BBC2, ITV, Channel 4, Channel 5). Cable is available throughout Dublin with all the same channels as the UK available (Sky etc). Most hotels offer access to all the Irisk and UK terrestrial channels together with a limited cable offering (CNN, Sky News, Cartoon channels etc).
The Irish weather is, frankly, changeable. Changeable for good, that is! In seriousness, probably more is made of Ireland`s wet and windy weather, but be warned that it can be like that and you need to be prepared. In the winter the weather can be fairly cold (but rarely below zero) and wet and windy. In the summer it is usually warm but very rarely oppressively hot.
